A Finishing Touch
The clients are a couple living in a 1920s terraced house. They have done extensive renovations throughout the property and have three spaces remaining – the hall, the living room, and the main bathroom.
Before the project started:
Hallway Transformation: As the first impression of their home, the couple wants it to be both impressive and practical. To achieve this, I proposed a bespoke fitted storage and bench unit for coats, dog accessories, and daily essentials. Creating the wow factor, a striking tin tile will adorn the ceiling, complemented by a subtle art deco fan stencil on the lower half of the walls. Artwork from the client’s personal collection will add a personal touch, making this hallway both memorable and functional.

Before the project started:
Cosy Living Room Retreat: Designed as a sanctuary for family evenings, the living room will exude coziness while accommodating the couple’s extensive library. The high ceiling will be painted a deep navy to create an intimate atmosphere, contrasted by light blue walls. Built-in shelving, housing the TV and showcasing cherished books and keepsakes, will flank two walls. A luxurious emerald velvet corner sofa, adorned with jewel-toned cushions and a large velvet footstool, will anchor the space. A captivating graffiti painting of a geisha will serve as the room’s centrepiece, adding character along with other artwork from the couple’s collection.

Before the project started:
Redefined Main Bathroom: The main bathroom, intended for both daily use and guests, presented challenges, particularly the layout and extremely narrow bath. By reconfiguring the space while avoiding major plumbing or electrical changes, I designed a more functional layout; I rotated the bath and replaced it with a shorter, deeper one with shower above; I also moved the sink to open up the floor space the room. Ample storage is provided with cabinet above the loo, while a nautical theme, featuring wave motifs and a compass rose floor tile, infuses the room with charm and personality.
